Soft

Black women are told we are too aggressive, 

hostile, 

too strong, 

lacking or always having to prove our femininity.

Black women are told that we cannot be soft

vulnerable, delicate.

but the most unprotected, abused and neglected,

 is the Black woman.

so let us be vulnerable and dainty

to go with the ‘soft aesthetic’

indulge in wearing pink, 

pastel or bright colors, 

the cottagecore,

or anything else we want. 

because we reject your narratives of who we are.
